13 days to go for much-awaited movie of the year - Ramayana. Advance bookings for Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, starring as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana, have started on a good note ahead of its theatrical release. The Nitesh Tiwari-directed mythological epic opened bookings on Dussehra, nearly two weeks before its November 5 release. Early figures suggest that the film is moving towards the Rs 10 crore mark in advance sales, while premium tickets for its opening day are priced at more than Rs 3,000 in some theatres.

Ramayana advance booking update

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film had recorded worth Rs 8.16 crore for its opening day, including blocked seats. The collection stood at Rs 6.15 crore after excluding blocked seats.

As of 9 am on October 22, Ramayana had sold more than 1.26 lakh tickets across 3,707 shows in India, Sacnilk reported. Eight shows had already been marked housefull, though most screenings still had seats available.

The Hindi version is leading the advance-booking numbers, accounting for around 92% of ticket sales. The Kannada version has recorded collections worth more than Rs 41 lakh, while the Telugu version has earned Rs 16.33 lakh, contributing around 2% of the bookings.

Maharashtra has emerged as the leading state in terms of advance sales, with collections of Rs 1.93 crore. Delhi-NCR is another major market, recording ticket sales worth more than Rs 1.78 crore. Among individual cities, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune and Ahmedabad are reporting some of the highest booking figures.

The film's early numbers could change over the coming days as more shows and seats become available.

Ramayana ticket prices cross Rs 3,000 for premium seats

The demand for premium screenings is also reflected in ticket prices at select theatres. At Mumbai's PVR ICON: Phoenix Palladium, recliner seats for the 11 pm IMAX 3D show on November 5 are priced at Rs 2,770. Recliner seats for the 6:55 pm IMAX 3D screening have already sold out.

Hindi 3D screenings are contributing the largest share of format-wise advance sales, with collections exceeding Rs 4.36 crore. The Hindi IMAX 4D version has also recorded more than Rs 1.66 crore in advance bookings.

The prices vary according to the theatre, screen format, showtime and seat category. While premium formats are attracting bookings, the available figures do not suggest that all screenings are sold out. The film still has time to add to its advance sales before it opens in cinemas.

Ramayana release date, cast and other details

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman.

The film is scheduled to release worldwide in cinemas on November 5, 2026. It will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and English, with IMAX 3D screenings also planned.

The mythological epic is among the major theatrical releases scheduled for the festive season. Its advance bookings have already crossed Rs 8 crore, according to Sacnilk's estimates, with the Hindi version accounting for most of the early sales. Whether the film crosses the Rs 10 crore mark before release will depend on how bookings progress in the remaining days.
