Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, another initiative has been taken in the direction of expanding higher education opportunities in Uttar Pradesh and providing quality and employment-oriented education to the youth. The state government has issued a letter of intent to the sponsoring organization 'Om Shri Sai Shiksha Samiti, Aligarh' for the establishment of the proposed 'Sai Global University' in Aligarh. This has paved the way to move forward in developing new opportunities for higher and professional education in Aligarh and surrounding areas.

State Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay handed over the letter of intent to the representatives of the committee at his official residence in Lucknow. The Higher Education Department has issued this letter of intent under the provisions of Section 6 of the Uttar Pradesh Private Universities Act, 2019 after the approval of the competent authority.

Better educational options may be available

Yogi government is emphasizing on strengthening the higher education infrastructure in the state and establishing better coordination between education and employment for the youth. In this direction, participation of the private sector is being encouraged, so that the institutions of higher education expand in different areas of the state and better educational options can be available to the students near their home area.

Hope to get additional opportunities for education

Through the proposed SAI Global University, students of Aligarh and surrounding areas are expected to get additional opportunities for higher and professional education. This can help in expanding educational facilities in the area and fulfilling the educational aspirations of the youth. Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is committed to providing world-class, quality and employment-oriented higher education to the youth near their home areas. He said that the government is making the process of private sector investment transparent and easy, so that an excellent ecosystem of higher education can be developed in the state. The Minister directed the sponsoring organization to complete the further process by fulfilling all the necessary standards and conditions within the stipulated time frame.

Will proceed as per fulfillment of conditions

According to the letter of intent issued, the sponsoring organization 'Om Shri Sai Shiksha Samiti' will have to fulfill the mandatory conditions prescribed under the Uttar Pradesh Private University Act, 2019 within the next two years. After this the institution will have to submit the compliance report to the government. The further process of establishing the university will proceed as per the fulfillment of the prescribed statutory provisions and conditions.
