India and West Indies Fined: India and West Indies (IND vs WI) Recently a 3-match ODI series was played between. In the third and last ODI of this series, India had to face defeat by 5 wickets. West Indies had chased a huge score of 352 runs against India. After this match, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken action against both the teams. ICC has imposed heavy fine on India and West Indies for slow over rate. The Indian team has been fined 20 percent of the match fee for not completing the overs within the stipulated time in the third ODI. At the same time, the West Indies team has been fined 10 percent of the match fee.
Prakash Bhatt, a member of the International Panel of ICC Match Referees, has imposed penalties on both the teams keeping in mind the time allowances. The Indian team was found 4 overs behind the stipulated time limit. Because of this, a fine of 20 percent of the match fee has been imposed on the players of the Indian team. At the same time, the West Indies team remained 2 overs behind the scheduled time. Because of this, a fine of 10 percent of the match fee was imposed on the West Indies players. The captains of both the teams admitted their mistake and accepted the punishment given by the match referee.
Let us tell you that under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct to players and support staff, if a team is not able to complete the over in the stipulated time, then for every slow over, a fine of 5 percent of the match fee is imposed on the players.

For India, Rohit Sharma played an inning of 92 runs, while KL Rahul scored unbeaten 123 runs. In response, the West Indies team chased the target with 10 balls remaining.
