Both characters have a deep connection to the books and both show strong personalities in their own ways. However, Golu’s personality appears to be more aggressive and determined than Shalu’s. Shweta believes that being strong for a woman is not limited to just showing physical strength. Confidence, knowledge, mental strength and everyday decisions also reflect the strength of a person.

What was the most difficult thing about the character of Golu?



The biggest challenge for Shweta in playing the character of Golu was her trauma and emotional pain. Many such incidents occur in Golu’s life, which completely change his personality and thinking. The actress said that having been associated with Golu for almost nine years, she had become emotionally attached to the character. It was not easy for him to portray on screen the mental state of Golu, who goes through constant anger, revenge, loneliness and difficult situations.


According to Shweta, while playing a character for a long time, its body language, way of speaking, behavior and emotional state can become a part of the actor’s daily routine. In Golu’s case, this experience was the most challenging for him.


Golu affected Shweta’s mental condition


Shweta revealed that the character of Golu affected her a lot on a psychological and emotional level. Due to playing the loneliness, anger and mental struggle present in the character for a long time, he found it difficult to come out of it. According to the actress, she had to work hard to separate herself from the role of Golu and even took the help of a therapist. Is Shweta afraid of typecasting?


After the popularity of Golu in ‘Mirzapur’, the question kept arising whether Shweta Tripathi should not be limited to a particular type of characters. However, the actress herself is not worried about being typecast. Shweta said that the audience has seen her different works even before ‘Mirzapur’. His characters in projects like ‘Masaan’, ‘Haramkhor’, ‘Lakhon Mein Ek’ and ‘Made in Heaven’ have been different from each other. That’s why he believes the audience understands the difference between the actor and his character.


She also clarified that she wants to do different types of projects in future also. It is more important for him to experiment with new roles and stories rather than repeating the same character again and again.
