The withdrawal of South-West Monsoon has started from Uttar Pradesh and the monsoon may depart from the entire state in the next 48 hours. This year, after 11 years, monsoon rains have crossed the 800 mm mark.
UP Weather Update: The withdrawal of south-west monsoon has started in Uttar Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, the conditions are favorable for the departure of monsoon from the entire state in the next 48 hours. Meanwhile, this year the monsoon rains in the state have crossed the 800 mm mark after 11 years. However, a difference has been recorded in the rainfall data in eastern and western Uttar Pradesh.
Monsoon will depart from entire UP in 48 hours
According to the Meteorological Department, the withdrawal boundary of monsoon on October 1, 2026 is passing through Muzaffarnagar and Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of departure of south-west monsoon from the remaining parts of the state in the next two days.
With the withdrawal of monsoon, the weather is expected to remain dry in many parts of the state. However, local weather changes may be seen in some areas.
The weather will be dry from 1 to 6 October
According to the IMD forecast, the weather is likely to remain dry over most parts of Uttar Pradesh between October 1 and 6. At the same time, on October 7, there may be light and sporadic rain in many parts of the state.
The weather department has also issued forecast for eastern and western Uttar Pradesh. A change in weather may be seen in some local areas amid the departure of monsoon.
Rainfall crossed 800 mm after 11 years
This year, monsoon rains in Uttar Pradesh have crossed the 800 mm mark after 11 years. However, the rainfall situation was not the same in different parts of the state.
In Western Uttar Pradesh, 782.7 mm rainfall was recorded this monsoon season, whereas the normal rainfall figure here is 672 mm. Thus, the rainfall in Western UP was 17 percent more than normal.
The temperature in Lucknow was 32.2 degrees
Amid the withdrawal of monsoon, rain continues in some parts of the state, while in many areas humid conditions persist due to increase in temperature.
The maximum day temperature recorded in Lucknow on Wednesday was 32.2 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature was above normal in most of the districts of the state. In such a situation, after the complete departure of monsoon, the weather is likely to remain dry in the next few days.
