An incident of electrical short circuit came to light at around 2.30 pm on Wednesday, September 23, in the Dullabchhada Hospital Road area under Bhetarband GP near Dullabchhada in Ramakrishnanagar assembly constituency of Shribhoomi district. Information has come to light that various electrical appliances including inverters, meters and other items of 8 to 10 families got damaged in the incident. According to local sources, after the incident there was an atmosphere of fear and anxiety in the area for some time. Concern is being expressed among the local people regarding the recurrence of such electricity incidents in Dulabhchhada area.

Local people have demanded to seriously examine the condition of the electricity system and take necessary steps. After receiving information about the incident, Dullabchhada District Council member Pranab Mukherjee Reached the spot and took stock of the situation. After this he contacted the concerned SDO of APDCL. On receiving the information, APDCL officials also reached the spot and directly inspected the situation.

During the inspection, APDCL officials took stock of the possible causes of short circuit and the damage caused. Besides, information was also collected regarding damaged inverters, meters, electrical appliances and other properties of the affected families. The affected families have demanded a thorough investigation into the incident to find out the cause of the short circuit, make an actual assessment of the loss and provide appropriate compensation or financial assistance as per the applicable government rules. Now the affected families are waiting for further action from the concerned authorities.
