Today is the seventh day of Ganesh Utsav. If you want to please Lord Ganesha, then making Makhana-Kesar Peda at home is a great option this time. This Peda is amazing in taste and adding saffron further increases its sweetness. You can easily prepare it with some simple ingredients.
Material
– Makhana: 2 cups
– Milk Powder: 1/2 cup
– Powdered sugar: 1/2 cup
– Milk: About 1/2 cup or as required
– Saffron: 8-10 strands
– Cardamom powder: 1/2 tsp
– Ghee: 1 to 2 teaspoons
– Dry fruits: to decorate
Method of preparation
– First of all, make sure that the makhana does not burn, otherwise the taste of the peda will get spoiled. Put the roasted makhanas in the mixer and grind them well.
– Do not keep them too thick, because the finer the mixture of pedas, the easier the pedas will come into shape.
– Now put some ghee in a pan and add makhana powder to it and fry it on low flame. Then add milk powder to it and mix well.
– After this, add milk little by little and keep stirring continuously. Do not add too much milk at once, rather add as per requirement so that you can get an idea of the correct measurement. Keep cooking the mixture on low flame, until it thickens and starts leaving the pan.
Now add powdered sugar and mix well. After adding sugar, the mixture will become a little wet, so cook it again on low flame.
– When the mixture becomes thick and it is easy to shape it with hands, turn off the gas. Then take it out in a plate and let it cool down a bit. Keep in mind that the mixture should not cool completely, even if it is lukewarm, the pedas will be made easily.
– After this, apply ghee on hands and take a little mixture and make it round. Press it lightly and give it the shape of a peda. You can place a strand of saffron or a little cut dry fruit on top of it.
Now your home made Makhana-Kesar Peda is ready. You can offer these to Lord Ganesha.
