Patna. The government has launched a unique initiative for the employees and officers of the state. The government will now give special leave of two days every three months to the employees, so that they can visit the tourist places of Bihar with their families. The objective of this decision is to promote local tourism in the state and to give new identity to lesser known tourist destinations.
According to the instructions issued by the General Administration Department, this journey will not just be considered as leave, but will be considered as on-duty. The trip should include a Friday and Saturday night stay. During this period the employees will have to visit at least three nearby tourist places.
1. Will get a chance to travel every three months
Under the new system, all government employees and officers of the state will be able to travel for two days once in every three months. During this time, they will have to visit a tourist destination in a district other than their home district and the district of their current posting. The government wants the employees to get to know the cultural and historical heritage of Bihar closely along with spending time with their families.
2. Time will be considered on-duty, not leave.
The most special thing about this scheme is that the travel period will not be considered as normal leave. That means this trip of the employee will be considered part of government duty. However, the government has made it clear that during this period no official will conduct any kind of official meeting, inspection or review work. Its purpose is only to promote tourism and local places.
3. Lesser known tourist destinations will benefit
There are many historical, religious and natural places in Bihar which have not yet come on the mainstream tourism map. The government is trying to give recognition to these places through the visits of employees and increase tourism activities there. Along with this, local homestays, hotels and small businessmen are also expected to benefit. The district administration has been instructed to ensure better arrangements with government rest houses and private hotels.
4. Report will have to be given after the journey
The government has not limited this scheme to just sightseeing. Employees will also have to submit a feedback report after returning from the trip. In this report, they will have to give photographs of the places visited, the condition of the facilities there and suggestions for necessary improvements. This will help the government to understand the shortcomings of tourist destinations and improve them.
