In a statement posted on social media, the manager said Landy had called early that morning to say she was feeling unwell, according to 8days.
“Due to a persistent high fever that would not subside, along with severe abdominal pain, she was rushed to the hospital that same day,” the statement read.
On May 16, the manager said Landy was conscious but unable to eat.
He added that Landy broke down in tears in her hospital room because she felt guilty about suspending her work commitments. Her work schedule has reportedly been cleared through the end of June while she undergoes treatment and recovery.
The manager told local outlet Mirror Daily on Monday that Landy’s condition had “improved significantly” but that she remained in the ICU.
Landy, 46, entered the music industry after competing in the 1997 singing contest Super Newcomer, where she was discovered by host Jacky Wu and later signed to his label Alfa Music International. The two released the hit duet “Rooftop” in 1998.
