A wedding in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi turned chaotic after the bride refused to recognise the groom, alleging he was not the same man she had been interacting with online, police said on Thursday.



The ceremony, arranged following their online relationship, took place on May 12 but spiralled into a violent clash between the two families. The groom was later hospitalised, said Circle Officer (Shahabad) Alok Raj Narayan.



According to police, the groom, Devendra Singh Parimar (23), had first connected with the woman on Instagram. Their interaction soon moved to phone calls, and the two reportedly fell in love before deciding to get married.
