Security forces have recovered more than Rs 1 crore in cash along with a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosive materials from Maoist hideouts in Narayanpur, officials said on Tuesday.
The recoveries were made during a month-long anti-Naxal operation launched after the state was declared free of armed Maoist presence on March 31. The operation aimed to trace and retrieve materials hidden by insurgents in forested areas.
According to Superintendent of Police Robinson Guria, the operation focused on flushing out concealed dumps in remote zones, particularly in the dense forests of Abhujmad.
The joint operation involved personnel from the district police, District Reserve Guard (DRG), Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Border Security Force. It was carried out under the “Maad Bachao Abhiyan,” a coordinated effort to eliminate remnants of Maoist infrastructure in the region.
Officials said the seized materials highlight the scale of resources previously stockpiled by Maoist groups and mark a significant step in securing the area.
