Manchester United prospect Kai Rooney has joined Triple S Sports Management, the same agency his father Wayne is represented by. The international firm is run by his agent, Paul Stretford, with clear intentions for Kai's career trajectory outlined. Announcing his arrival, an Instagram statement declared: "Delighted to announce the signing of @kairooney.10 to Triple S Sports!

"We're excited to begin working with the Manchester United forward as he continues his journey in the game. A bright future ahead. Welcome to the team, Kai!" United icon Wayne has previously addressed his son's footballing prospects and been explicit about his expectations.

Speaking via the BBC last year, he said: "He has great coaches at Manchester United, so I take a stand-off approach. I speak to him, but for me it's all about his mentality and his mindset, to make sure he keeps enjoying it - that's the main thing for me."

Rooney's comments regarding those mentoring his son, including former team-mate Darren Fletcher, were vindicated recently through their advancement to the under-18s Premier League Cup final.

Rooney found the net during the 3-1 semi-final triumph over West Ham, with the final scheduled for next month at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.

Fellow United talent JJ Gabriel, who has featured in first-team training sessions, also scored with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe present at Carrington.

Michael Carrick has also attended numerous academy fixtures since taking charge, though he was involved in first-team preparations for a Premier League clash against Newcastle on that day.

The 16-year-old Rooney seems to be handling everything with composure despite the immense expectations that could weigh upon him, something his mother Coleen recently discussed.

She told The Times: "He's lived it from a young age. "When we used to go to matches when he was younger, he'd get a lot of people coming up saying, 'Oh, are you Wayne Rooney's son?'

"But he's strong-minded, always has been. I've got no worries in the way he deals with it. "It's nice that we know what to expect.

"And we can try to guide him. Obviously, it's his life, his passion. He can decide what he wants to do. But I think it's good we've got the knowledge."
