Surathkal police have arrested four youths for allegedly consuming MDMA near a bus stand in the Surathkal area.

The arrested have been identified as Manoj alias Sujeeth (32), a resident of Surathkal Middle; Shramik R. Kotian (25) of Irvail; Dheeraj K.S. (26) of Hosabettu; and Sunil Rinson Dancy D’Souza (31) of Thanneerbavi.

According to police, the incident occurred around 8 pm on February 23 while officers were on routine patrol. They received information that four youths had gathered near a bus stand at the entrance leading to Raktheshwari Daivasthana in the Middle village area and were allegedly consuming narcotic substances while creating a disturbance.

When police reached the spot, the youths attempted to flee but were apprehended. During questioning, they appeared disoriented and showed signs of intoxication. The accused reportedly admitted to consuming MDMA.

They were taken to AJ Hospital in Mangaluru for medical examination, where drug consumption was confirmed. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
