The country's largest IT company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is moving towards a big decision.

According to reports, the company is planning to lay off about 2 percent of its global workforce, i.e. more than 12,000 people. This is considered to be the biggest layoff till date.

Many big reasons have come to the fore behind this decision of TCS. The main reason for this is the recession at the international level, cost cuts by clients and rapidly changing technology. However, it has not been directly linked to AI (Artificial Intelligence).

TCS CEO K. Krithivasan himself said that these layoffs are happening because some employees no longer have the necessary skills according to the new needs of the company.

The biggest impact of this layoff is going to be on mid-level and senior level employees. Apart from this, those employees who have not been on any project for a long time, that is, are on the 'bench', are also in danger.

The company is now re-training its team to work in a new way. TCS is now moving towards becoming a "future-ready" company. The company is emphasizing on AI, cloud and digital technology.

Under this, the company has so far taught basic AI training to about 5.5 lakh employees and advanced AI skills to more than one lakh people. But many senior employees could not adapt themselves to this change, so they may be shown the way out.
