Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh): Shaheed Bhagat Singh District Hospital has become the second hospital of the Jabalpur division, which recently received the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certificate. Each department of the hospital has to qualify for 250 points.
Civil surgeon Dr Neelay Jain said the district hospital got the national-level quality certificate. The district hospital is one of the hospitals which are eligible to provide the best treatment.
In the state, there are only 12 hospitals which have achieved this goal, Jain said. Soon after his first inspection of the hospital, the collector said the district hospital had all the qualities of getting the certificate if certain shortcomings are removed, Jain further said.
The hospital has worked hard in ten months to remove those shortcomings, he said.
The adviser of NQUAS, JN Shrivastava, presented his report to the NHM Mission director. The report gives 82.07% marks to the hospital for quality. Doctors from Kolkata, Pune and Hingoli inspected the hospital.
Three teams of specialist doctors visited 18 departments of the hospital from April 28 to 30 this year.
Now, the hospital will get all the facilities to be demanded by its management.
The Rogi Kalyan Samiti of the hospital will get ₹40 lakh for three years, Jain said. The hospital will also get all the equipment, machines, and other things, he said, adding that doctors will be appointed.
