Arsenal have yet to do any business this summer, but the are expected to be busy when it comes to .

The is currently closed - not that that will stop clubs negotiating deals and making signings - and will reopen on Monday, June 16.

The window was open from June 1 to June 10 and the reason for the mini closure is to stop clubs taking part in the Club World Cup in the United States of America making signings during the group stages.

are not involved and can, therefore, make signings at any point, albeit having to mention in any announcement that the players joining will 'sign for the club upon the opening of the transfer window on June 16'.

from Chelsea following a season-long loan deal with Bournemouth last season.

, despite Real Madrid attempting to hijack the deal late in the day. Arsenal have put a lot of work into the deal behind the scenes and remain confident of completing a transfer.

high on the wishlist, with the likes of Rodrygo and Nico Williams linked with bring the wide forwards Arsenal could sign.

There has not been much in the way of speculation around the defender position, however. Dean Huijsen was of interest until he made the move to Real Madrid, while Marc Guehi has emerged as a potential target from Crystal Palace.

Arsenal's first choice pairing of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes is nailed on, with the duo striking up one of the best central defensive partnerships in the Premier League. The question arises when one of them is unavailable.

Ben White can play in the centre, but is preferred at right-back, while Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jurrien Timber can also play in the heart of the defence.

But there is one other player who can make a case for Arsenal not needing to sign anyone at the back this summer - Jakub Kiwior.

The Pole was heavily linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium last summer having failed to make much of an impact in north London in his first season at the club.

Kiwior only started 11 Premier League games in 2023/24, playing a total of 945 minutes. Things did not get much better this season, with Kiwior unable to shake the partnership of Gabriel and Saliba, but following an injury to the Brazilian towards the end of the season, Kiwior played an important role.

The Polish centre-back started each of the last nine Premier League matches, playing the full 90 in eight of them, keeping three clean sheets. He was brilliant in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain too and proved he can step up and fill the void left by the first choice duo.

Manager Mikel Arteta said: "He's so likeable. Everybody really loves him in that dressing room. He's very vocal on the pitch.

"He obviously had a language barrier at the beginning when he joined us. Now he’s much more open with the boys, and he gets on really well with everybody. So I'm very happy with him."

AC Milan not signing Kiwior for around £20million last summer could end up being a godsend for Arsenal and may even lead to Andrea Berta rethinking the club's plans to sign another centre-back in this summer's transfer window.
